Has anyone figured out how to sort the Contact List in Windows Mail by the
contact's last name?

You don't see my reply posted on June 11th ?
Open Windows Mail > Contact > right click on Name header > click Last. If
you have First checked, uncheck it.
Further info :
Windows Mail > Contact > right click on Name > click More. You can arrange
E-mail address, Last, and First in that order.
Put a checkmark on them, highlight a selection, use the Move Up or Move Down
button to place it where you want.
t-4-2.

In the Contacts folder:
Change the View to "Details".
Right-click on the "Name" column heading, click on "First Name", then click
on "Last Name"
Click on the "Last Name" heading to sort by that, or click on "First Name"
heading to sort by that.

In a Create Mail window:
Click on To:
Click on the "Name" column heading... it cycles thru 4 different sorts

In the Contact Properties:
click on the down arrow at the end of the Full Name box

Enter your contacts using their last name first, eg Smith, John instead of
John Smith.
