Hi

How can I stop Outlook contacts bracketising a phone
number I enter. It seems to make the assumption some of
the digits are area codes.

e.g if I enter in the mobile phone number box a number in
the format I want it (for sync with a cell phone)

+41 7787 888333

Outlook decides it should look like this

+41 (7787) 888333

(which my cell phone will not like)

Its driving me mad!! In the example 7787 is not an area
code - Please help me stop this annoying behaviour.

Thanks
Andy

Masking of phone numbers is hard coded. You cannot change it.

Intellisense is built into Contact forms published in
OL. You could create your own contact form, or add a new
field you use for #s.

Other option is to prefix the number with a , (comma).
This is assumed a pause and outlook ignores anything
afterwards. Let me know if this works with your mobile
ok.

To disable country code, do this from Dial contact,
dialing properties, uncheck automatically.
