Contact icons.

In Outlook Express,Tip of the Day, it says anyone in the contacts list is
offline and not available for immediate response to emails.

I know some of my contacts are offline, but the icon is still a pale yellow
with a small red stamp in the top corner. Is there some sort of setting I
have to deal with to alter so that they show red when offline.

Outlook express displays icons based on windows Messenger. When they are a
pail yellow color that means that they have their cell phone set up for
messaging while offline. I don't believe there is anything you can do about
it. Sorry.

Do you have an instant messaging program running?
Which one?

OE will not show who's online without one running and their dress being in
your list of approved contacts. For me, it also doesn't work with the beta
I'm running.

Try microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general newsgroup.

All my contacts are like that.

By the way, how do you get Tip of the Day?
