Contact file is different from Select Recipients

My "Windows Contact" file has different addresses in it than the list that
comes up when I "Select Recipients". There are folders in the contact file
that I use to be able to access. For example, with Outlook in XP you could
have your main identies contacts and then other contacts or shared contacts.
This use to be the case in my Windows Mail until recently. I don't know why
but they're no longer there. When I choose "Windows Contacts" the correct
list shows up with all the folders but I can't load them into an email
without retyping the address manually. If I click on "To" or "Select
Recipients" the list that comes up appears to be an old WAB file and not the
correct addresses. Any ideas?

If your contacts arn't under Desktop>USERNAME>Contacts

Then you won't see them

Does that help?

I can't tell if you're using Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail or Outlook..

Assuming Windows Mail,
There are no Identities. All email accounts go into one Inbox and all
Contacts are stored in the Contacts folder.
If you created folders in the Contacts folder, they aren't of much use. You
can create the folders, but WM will not show them when you click on To:, CC:
or BCC:

However, you can do it bassackwards if you have folders... open your
Contact folder, open your sub-folder, select your recipient(s), right-click,
select Action - Send Email

That helps a little bit Dave, thank you. However it still doesn't tell me why
my Contacts file/folder is showing different information than what shows when
I select recipients from the 'TO/CC/BCC' areas. Yes I'm using Windows Mail.
