constantly crashing

I'm running XP Home on a Toshiba laptop that is about 9 mos old. It
constantly locks up. Pressing ctrl-alt-delete won't work when this happens.

The problem happens at least once a day. All I can do is manually power
down the computer. If I want to use MS Word, then I'm garunteed to lock up
in a short period of time.

Any ideas or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Based on the details you've provided, if it's not a virus or spyware then
it's time to reinstall.

Or the Laptop is overheating. (Fan failure, etc.)
