constant redialing of network connection

Running Window XP Pro with SP2 I noticed that my dsl connection keeps
redialing after I disconnect.or once I boot up the machine it automatically
connects without having to click on the connection.. have checked for
spyware and viruses without any success. Any idea's would be appreciated.
 
IE, tools, Options, Connection tab, settings button. Advanced button, see
checkboxes for reconnection
