Constant reboots after repair of Home XP

Desperate !

I hada problematic XP Home.
Did a repair.
Got stuck with the smsm (or somethin like that) error.
Did the Reg editing tip - fixed the CD access problem.
Next the Keyboard & Mouse frooze
Did a Repair again.

NOW, THE SYSTEM LOADS. GIVES ME THE BLUE "SETP INITIATING" (or text to that
effect) SCREEN. FLASHES THE WINDOWS LOGO, AND SHORTY THEREAFTER GOES INTO A
BLANK DARK SCREEN & THEN A RESTART, AND ALL OVER AGAIN.

Boot to the XP setup CD, and press 'r' for recovery console, run the command : CHKDSK /R
