Constant Pop-Up Window!

I am often getting a pop-up window informing me that there is no disc in the
drive. When I hit "Cancel" it comes right back at me until I hit "Cancel"
about 40 times. It goes away and then comes back again at random. What's up?

Does the pop-up window indicate any detailed information such as
a "missing" file's name or a Windows error number?

Try powering down and ensuring that the drive's connector cable and
power cable are firmly seated before restarting.

Put a disc in the drive. Do you still get the pop-up messages? That
would indicate the presence of malware. Run malware scans in Safe
Mode.

Good luck!

careful, if the message need disk in drive A: you can be infected by boot
virus, and he try to propagate in disks

No disagreement. Have gotten into a bad habit of never thinking
about drives A and B. Haven't used either in years.

Thought the spelling of "disc" would infer a CD/DVD drive since
one puts "disks" in drive A and "discs" in a CD/DVD drive.

Since the OP also used the term "disc", I assumed he and I were on
the same page about the inference of tightening the cable/connector
for his CD/DVD drive, and putting a "disc' in his CD/DVD drive.

Thanks for the heads-up. I think I'll super-glue shut my A drive's
access door.

My daughter also receives the following message: "Windows - No Disk
There is no disk in drive". It takes many cancels to make it go away.
There is no indication what application/drive it is referring to. It does
not do it on my user account on the same computer. Help!
