"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the
specified folder location."

Is the message I get every 60-90 minutes when Outlook 2003 is running (on XP
SP3). If I close it, its not really closed and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to
finally stop it. Usually when I restart it, it will return to normal but
run thru a mailbox check to see if files are ok. Then after another 60-90
minutes, poof, same error again and I have to do the same again.

The calendar does the same thing.

Any ideas what's going wrong? Fix??

Do you have multiple PST files open? You might want to setup a fresh profile
here: Control Panel > Mail applet

I'll try. What happens to all the data in calendar contacts etc. in my old
Outlook profile?

Isn't this the same as Outlook/Tools/Options?

Do I need to do anything in the Folderview of Outlook to make the new
profile show up?

Still there. This time error message is:

Unable to display the folder. Another application closed unexpectedly while
using your Personal Folders file "c:\Documents and Settings/Jack/My
Docs\Outlook\Outlook.pst". To prevent potential damage to your file, it
will not be available until all applications are restarted.

I am using Palm Wireless Sync to push my incoming Outlook email out to my
Palm Centro. Do you think that's the issues somehow?

Also - I've lost all my saved mail and calendar data. How can I import that
without contaminating the new pst?

Possible. What happens if you stop the sync process in Task manager?

Lost them in Outlook? From where would you import them?

Well not lost per se - they are in the pst of my original profile. If I use
the new profile and import all data from old pst wouldn't I just corrupt the
new pst?

a day or 2 too see if its the cause. thx.

You should be able to open the old PST and copy the data from the old to the
new. Non-default folders can be copied in their entirety. Default folders
should have the contents, not the folders themselves, copied.
