Hi,

when I let sit my notebook sit idle under Windows (XP
Home), something gets written to the hard disk about
every 20-40 seconds. When I search by modification date,
it seems that the "config" and "ntuser.dat" files are
what keep getting updated.

Does anyone else have this problem? Well, it's not really
a problem, more of an annoyance. How would I be able to
fix this?

Thanks! :-)

You may have indexing turned on. Use your help and support from the
Start menu and type in "indexing" without the quotes. Follow
directions on how to turn on or off.

Indexing is actually not turned on on my notebook. I also
don't think this comes from the antivirus ot the firewall,
because these log files don't get updated often enough to
account for the disk activity.
