I have a Dell Server running windows 2000 server and it runs fine but I can't get by the login screen on the console. I enter the correct username and password and it accepts it for a second and then locks the console again. has anyone seen this problem? How can i fix this without reloading windows

I have seen this kind of behaviour when there are invalid entries in one of
the Run registry keys...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If you have the same problem that I did, you should be able to boot into
Safe Mode and fix/delete the necessary entries
