Consistent crash issues - 0x1000008e

I consistently get the following error - The computer has rebooted from a
bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbfac6460, 0xb8a12a80,
0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini012607-07.dmp.

I've updated the BIOS, updated all drivers (including graphics drivers),
tried 2 different video cards (GeForce 7800 GS & Radeon 7000), 2 different
hard drives, 4 different sticks of memory (4x 256mb), 2 different power
supplies (500w and 430w). I've tried checking for any conflicts in the
system information, and found nothing. I'm at my wits end. Here's my
information:

OS - Windows XP SP 2
MoBo - GA-K8NSC-939
Proc. - AMD Athlon XP 3800+
Video - GeForce 7800 GS
Mem - 2x Centon 512 mb DDR400 PC3200
Power - Cooler Master 430w
Maxtor ATA/100 100gb 7200 rpm

I'm completely stumped. Any help is appreciated.

What hardware changes had you made in the period shortly before these
errors started? Have you added memory?

What computer make and model of computer. Does your Windows XP CD
include the SP2 update. If not do have access to an SP2 CD. which was
freely distributed by Microsoft in 2004?

Does the error occur in Safe Mode? Does the error occur during
start-up, after start-up or anytime?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties. Hardware,
Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What
drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

You should remove the side panels on the box and check that the fans
are working. Look in the Manual for a diagram showing their location.
If not working the computer can overheat causing memory problems. Dust
can also be a problem. The best way to remove dust is to use an Air
Duster (Compressed Air in a can) available from large computer
stores).

How much free disk space on your hard drive?

What is the make and model of the drive?

I would try HD Tune (freeware).
Download and run it and see what it turns up.

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on the drive under Drive
letter and then double click the two page icon ( copy to Clipboard )
and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy
to Clipboard ) and copy into a further message. Also do a full surface
scan with HD Tune.
