Connection XP Home and W2000 machines

I have an XP home machine belonging to a workgroup and a
W2000 laptop belonging to a domain.
I can connect to all shared folders in the Microsoft
Windows Network from the XP machine but can not connect
from the W2000 machine. I get a "there are currently no
logon servers available to service the logon request"

If I look at the XP machine my Netlogon service isn't
started and can not be started because the XP machine is
part of a worgroup, not a domain.

How can I start my Netlogon service?

Its not a netlogon issue. If a pc is set to log on to a
domain and isnt connected to that network it will not
connect to your home network.

I just worked through this same problem. I've resolved
that from all the research, a W2000 machine on a domain
cannot access an XP machine on a workgroup. XP Home was
not designed to support domain networking. My solution was
to logon locally to my W2000 machine so that the domain is
not involved. After doing so, I could easily share between
both machines and explore them on the network.
