Connection wizard problem

I'm trying to connect an old W2K PC to my cable modem internet
connection with an NIC, but the connection wizard only lists dial up
options. What can I do from here?

'Add' any modem thats in the list then disable its profile in control panel,
go to internet options - connection, and select 'never dial . . .' and
ensure that the nic is getting dhcp or give it a static one etc and all
should work
