Connection unavailable when in standby

Have small network runninng XP and having a problem with one computer
connecting to another when it goes into standby. Have notebook mapped to
desktop and as long as desktop is up and running works fine. As soon as it
goes into standby the mapped conenction is lost. Don't know if related but
this is a new Dell and when it goes into standby can't get it out without
pressing power button, mouse movement or keyboard action will not bring it
out. Waiting for answer from Dell on that but haven't gotten one so far so
any ideas on that my solve other problem.

Thanx

Boot the desktop into the BIOS/setup, and look for power management. There
are a couple of options you can choose in there - I don't remember which is
which, but you want the one you *aren't* currently using. This will take
care of the "Computer goes to sleep even though nobody's logged in" issue.
