Connection Timed Out Error

I can log into two websites that I manage using frontpage with no problem. However, when I try to open one of my webpages on the server, I get the following error message: "Error retrieving (html file name), the connection timed out or was aborted by the server".

I have received this error before and to fix it, I would disable my firewall settings and virus protection settings and was then able to access the files on the server

However, this solution is not working anymore

Just to let you know, I manage my own personal website provided by another web hosting company. I use Frontpage and I've never had to disable either my virus software or firewall software to get in. I'm having no problems

Could it be settings on the web hosting server that's causing the problems

Hi Kathleen

I brought down the entire website. I've basically rebuild the entire site on my own personal webserver with another hosting company and I'm not getting the error messages. I tried rebuilding it on the server that the site is currently using and I'm continuing to get the same error message

First of all, to give you a little background, the server we currently have the site on is managed by a non-profit organization called the Genesee Gateway. The rent out disk space to Non-Profit Organizations. All volunteers manage the support. All of these guys are computer guru's but none of them are microsoft certified. They hate the Microsoft office products. In fact they are running Linux operating software (instead of windows) on all their webservers. I think they can't seem to help me because they don't know how to and they don't know how to properly administer the Frontpage extensions.
