Hi

I'm having a problem with Outlook Express 6.

I am using Windows '98
I have recently installed ADSL
I have deleted all of my old Dial up connections
I am using my ISP's dialler (BT Yahoo in the UK) to connect to the internet

My actual internet connection works fine, I can browse websites via IE with
no problems with my new ADSL connection.

Unfortunately when I load up Outlook Express it disconnects my current
connection, then requests that I dial the very same connection using a
standard Windows Dial Up Networking window. If I then try to dial that
connection, it just doesn't dial up or connect to any of the mail servers
that I have set up.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why Outlook might be doing this or
how I might be able to solve it?

I have made sure that the "Hang up after sending and recieving is unchecked"
and have made sure that Outlook is configured to share it's connection with
IE.

Thanks in advance for any help

Basil

Try posting in an Outlook Express group - this group supports Microsoft
Outlook from the Office suite of business productivity programs. Outlook
Express is a part of Internet Explorer. You can also find some good
information here: http://www.tomsterdam.com

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Basil asked:

I did, but my message has been sat there for over a week now and it's a very
quiet newsgroup. There just seemed to be more MVP's posting here and I
though the problem might be a general issue anyway.

Thanks for the link, though.
