I was at a Marroitt Timeshare and they where using Wayport as a Wireless ISP.
I could not connect using Internet Explorer to there network. Wayports help
desk connected me and suggest that I download Mozilla Firefox browser. Since
I have download Firefox, which works fine, I can not use IE as a browser. IE
starts, but is unable to connect to the wireless network in my home. Any
thoughs?

Please state your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3;
Vista SP1) when posting to this newsgroup.

Are you getting "Page cannot be displayed" errors? Can you connect directly
(i.e., not wirelessly)?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this machine
(e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?

Does the Norton application include a firewall? If so, is it enabled? (If
not, make certain that the Windows Firewall is enabled! NB: You do not want
both of them enabled.)

Open Add/Remove Programs | Make sure the 'Show Updates' box at the top is
checked | Scroll down and tell me if "Security Update for Windows Internet
Explorer 7 (KB961260)" and "Security Update for Windows XP (KB960715)" are
listed. Also tell me if the "installed" dates coincide with when you first
started getting these "Page cannot be displayed" errors.
