Connecting XP machine to existing network

L

lyn

We have a network with a DSL router and ethernet hub with
2 Windows 98 PCs. Both can see each other and access
files and printers and connect to the internet
independently.

"We have now purchased a new PC with Windows XP
Professional. The new PC can connect to the Internet but
it cannot see the other PCs - the error message is as
follows:
Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
accept permissions. The list of servers for this
workgroup is not currently available."

The 98 machines can see the XP machine but cannot connect
to it.

I see that others are having similar problems - has anyone
solved it yet? Help!!
