Connecting Vista Ultimate / x64 to an Windows (2003/2000) X86 doma

Hi Fellows,

I have posted this to the Vista public newsgroup and got excellent
responses, but
only then noticed I cannot know for sure that a Microsoft Employee or MVP or
other professional trusted member answered it...so I am posting in this
managed newsgroup...

Can you please review those questions so we can consider deployment of Vista
on the current infrastructure:

1. Can we then look into approving if there are no security or operational
issues
if I login my Vista / X64 machine to Win3K or Win2K domain ?
1.1 Might it ruin my account settings if I login in parallel from XP SP2
/ x86 ?
2. Can I use Office 2003 on my Vista X64 machine with no issues as I hook to
my
exchange account that runs on Server 2003 / X86 ?
2.1 Note that I would still like to keep my XP + Office 2003 environment
in
parallelintact with no issues that the Vista / Office might cause.
3. Can I use Office 2007 on my Vista X64 or XP SP2 / X86 machine with
no issues as I hook to my exchange account that runs on Server 2003 /
X86 ?
Note that I would still like to keep my XP + Office 2003 environment
intact with
no issues that the Vista / Office might cause.
4. Is there a formal Microsoft Document refering to my questions ?

This isn't a "managed" newsgroup. This is a peer to peer support newsgroup,
everyone is a volunteer. In any event these questions belong in the Vista
newsgroup, not here. This newsgroup deals with questions about the XP OS.
I read your other thread. Mike Brannigan, a former MS employee responded,
and someone else gave there advice. You got as good answers as you're going
to get.

I'm not sure what you mean by managed newsgroup, sorry. There are a variety
of Vista newsgroups on the Microsoft Discussion Groups web page under
microsoft.public.windows.vista.*

All the MS newsgroups can be reached through the MS news server. None of
them are moderated, almost all participants are volunteers, like me, helping
out. Occasionally an MS employee will post in one of the groups but on
their own time, not official MS support. Right now with Vista just released
there is a bit more presence from a couple MS employees in the vista
newsgroups, primarily Darrell Gorter and Jill Zoeler, but that will drop off
too.

I see you are using the web interface which is just awful. I suggest using
a newsreader to access what are actually Usenet newsgroup. Windows XP comes
with Outlook Express which can be setup for newsgroup access. Vista comes
with Windows mail, just subscribe to the Microsoft Communities. Here is a
link on setting up OE for newsgroup access. The experience is much better.

Hi Rock,

This is how I understand it, and I may be miss-understanding it...
As a technet subscriber, I can access the managed newsgroups which insures
an MS employee or an MVP answers it. Technically the message I post there
will get actually routed to the public discussion group, but since it was
routed via the managed newsgroup MS/MVP will be notified about it.
