how do i connect to my remote computer when the client
computer is behind a proxy?

You may not be able to do this. One purpose of the proxy is to secure the
lan behind it--are you clear that what you want to do is allowed by the IT
policies of whatever organization owns the LAN?

What type of proxy? Remote Desktop is not SOCK5 compliant, so it will
not pass through using the normal methods...

There are solutions to the problem using httptunnel or SSH tunnels,
but these are beyond the scope of this newsgroup.
