Connecting to internet when starting

Can someone tell me how to set my PC up to automatically connect on line
when starting up my PC. I have XP and a broadband ADSL connection. Your
help
would be appreciated

If your ISP uses PPPoE then you will need a router.

Set the machine to automatically run the software that starts / connects to the modem on
start up.

Then in Internet Explorer > Properties > Connections set your connection as a LAN and
check "Automatically detect settings."

XP will automatically find the modem connection.
