If your modem is active then you should have a connection when you boot
your PC. What problems are you having?

I also think you've posted in the wrong group, visit the ADSL (UK) forum at
www.cm-forums.co.uk for some more help.

I have No idea How BT authenticate so YMMV.
In the USA, the PPPOE protocol is used and a Cable/DSL Router is the best
solution to keep the connection always alive.
See here for details: http://www.ezlan.net/PPPOE.html

Hi,

I can't answer your question on How 2 auto connect

But for other people who maybe able to?

I'm sure it will be a USB Modem if it BT
It will have a dialler/connector that is double clicked
to manually connect to BT ADSL

I'm pretty certain it is PPPoA,
