connecting second wireless adapter

After installing netgear WG311T wireless adapter and card, I keep getting the
message that a network cable is unplugged. The power light on the back of the
wireless card is not on. I can't get the message that new hardware has been
detected. I already have one computer working on another adapter, with no
problems at all.

Are both machines on the same version and service pack level of Windows?

The first thng I would try is to uninstall the adapter, if the install has
completed enough for it to show in add or remove programs in control panel.
Otherwise, try inserting the CD that came with the adapter, and follow the
directions to install it again.
