connecting my laptop to the TV

Hiya, I have a Toshiba laptop and have bought some leads to conect it to the
TV, I get a picture on the TV but only in black and white. Does anyone know
how to get a colour picture? Thanks.

You need an S-Video lead, so that the colour components are sent to the TV.
I think you are using a composite - co-ax type - connection so the TV is not
getting the colour components.

If you are using an S-Video connection but have a composite junction between
cables you are stripping out the colour components at that junction.

??? Composite video certainly includes the color information. Whatever
is causing OPs problem, it's not this.
