Front Page is used, for the most part, to create web pages that are used on
the internet and/or intranets for company use.
Yes... if you want to go online you must make use of a web hosting service.
No! It is a different kind of animal.
There are free hosting services out there. Look carefully. For you to be
able to use Access you must have a web hosting service that uses Windows....
not Unix.
Once you get a host, and get your site, including the database files,
published, etc You can set up forms that will show query results.
If you don't need to be online... Access has a pretty good form tool that
will show your results... but, of course, you will not be online.
Best to you.....

Do you want to have an online database?I have an Access database that I want to connect to Front
Page but don't have a clue as to how to go about it.

I have been told that I must
be connected to a web hosting service and that will solve
the server problem. Is this true?
Yes... if you want to go online you must make use of a web hosting service.
Is a "web host" another
name for an Internet provider such as MSN or AOL?
No! It is a different kind of animal.
Is this
something that you pay for or are there such things as
free web hosts?

Security is usually pretty good with most web hosting companies. If I connect my database to this and
continue working on it, is my data secure? I need to be
able to view query results from the database in forms in
Front Page, but can only do that if I am able to finally
connect to the database.
