Best Buy sold me a TV Tuner box of some sort and Plasma TV that I want to use
generally as a monitor and said I have everything I need to do this. I have
tried to get this connected to the computer. Have an S cable and TV Tuner
box (not good at this!) Can anyone help? Do I need to buy something else?

All you should need is a TV output on your laptop and a couple of
cables. Look for a headphone-sized jack or a yellow RCA-female jack.
The headphone style jack should be yellow or black and will have a
TV-out label or a screen with an arrow going from the center of the
screen to the outside.

If you have the headphone size jack, get a camcorder to TV cable from
Radio Shack and hook the color-coded RCA jacks to the inputs on your
TV. Set the TV to Input, and press Fn+F7 to switch to the TV.

If you have the yellow RCA jack, you need a composite cable and a
headphone to RCA splitter cable. The composite cable will be just a
yellow RCA Male-Male cable. This goes from the output on the laptop to
the video in on the TV. The headphone to RCA splitter goes from the
headphone jack on the laptop to the RCA audio input on the TV/Audio
system. Again, Fn + F7 should switch to the external display, set the
TV to input.

Hope this helps.

What connections does the TV have? If it has a port labelled "PC", connect
that to your PC's monitor output. You may need to buy a VGA cable for
this. Just be sure you check the kinds of connectors - on my TV and
laptop, the connectors are female, so the cable I needed was male-male.

You can use S-Video, but you may run into issues with colour (that is, the
image may be black and white) or with jitter. In the monitor selection
dialogs on your system, be sure that when you use the TV you have the right
settings, PAL or NTSC. Hopefully, your display adapter supports this.

Again, it depends on the connectors the TV has. If it is a larger screen,
and doesn't offer high resolutions, you may be unsatisifed with the
appearance. Perhaps it's not surprising that bigger isn't always better.
