I have a shared drove in wnxp which about 40 users have
to map to.

I get " system has the max number of cnnctns allowed"
when 10 users map to this share.

What is happening?

Thx

Hi,

Windows XP allows maximum of 5 incoming connections. Whereas XP Professional
allows 10.

For more, upgrade to a Server OS. Inbound Connections Limit in Windows XP

XP Home = 5 connections
XP Pro = 10 connections

If you need more than 10 then you should be using a server version of
windows (windows server 2003) and preferably with a computer that is
designated as a file server only.
