I have a network with an NT 4 domain and mixed clients from 98SE-XP pro. I
have a new computer running XP pro & added it to the domain and all resources
are available except for the internet. I noticed some clients are using DHCP
while others have static IP's, but regardless they all have internet access.
I'm wondering why I don't have internet access on this new computer & I've
tried using both static & dhcp entered the same gateway & DNS as the others
to no avail. Do I need a host file or is there something else I need to
connect to? Any help where to look would be appreciated. TIA

Hmm, I have a similar problem. I have a domain running Windows Server 2003
and all XP Professional clients. One of my clients crashed, and after
reinstalling windows the computer will connect to the internet, but once I
add that computer to the domain, it no longer can access the internet,
although users can still log onto the computer using their domain roaming
profiles and accounts, and the computer can access all network resources. I
have never experienced a problem like this, and have reinstalled Windows
twice now hoping that the problem would go away. Clearly the connection to
the network is not the problem because I can still access other computers and
the server.

I have installed Service Pack 2 post install but that hasn't fixed the
problem either. As it is, I can only use the internet if the computer is not
part of the domain.

Anyone have any advice? It sounds like myself and the guy above are running
into the same issue.
