I have a an XP machine on a wireless LAN that connects fine to the internet
through a D-Link 604+ router and D_Link 300 modem but which will not
connect to the other two XP computers on the LAN. It will not ping itself
let alone the others and is unpingable from the others yet it gets its IP
okay from the router.
Anyone got any idea what's wrong?
TIA Baffled

Red,

Do any of the computers have a software firewall (ICF / WF, or third party)? If
so, you need to configure them for file sharing. Firewall configurations are a
very common cause of (network) browser, and file sharing, problems.

If the firewall is not the problem, provide ipconfig information for each
computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, make sure that Format - Word Wrap is
NOT checked!, copy and paste entire contents into your next post. Identify
operating system (by name, version, and SP level) with each ipconfig listing.
