connect using a dial up modem muted

I have same problem as Farmer Mike's
I go to the New Connection Wizard to set it
up, only connect using a broadband connection is
available, the first two options, using a dial-up modem,
and using a broadband connection that requires a user
name and password are muted and unavailable.
What should I do ?
