Connect to VPN Server for IBM AS/400 Client Access

Is anyone familiar with IBM AS/400 client Access? I am trying to get remote
client access to a the AS/400 server which is on a network that also has a
Windows 2000 server with VPN capability. I am not a professional, so please
excuse me if I don't use the right lingo. I can vpn to the Windows 2000
server and am connected and can access folders on the server fine. I use
the Public IP to gain entry to the server. The server has its own internal
IP (for example, 192.168.111.5). The IBM AS/400 also is a server with an IP
address of, let's say, 192.168.111.3. I'm using the IBM AS/400 client
access software to connect to that server. In the configuration, I put the
192.168.111.3 address in and my username and password, and when I'm on the
network at the office, it works fine. But when I'm at home, it doesn't
work. If I have VPN access to the network and am connected, shouldn't it
let me access other internal IPs on the network, if I have the correct
username and password, of course?

Thanks for your help in advance,

James Kennedy
