connect to LAN but not internet

In my boarding house there are 9 computers connected by LAN. One of them
as a gateway to the internet. My computer can connect(see) to the others
computer and they can connect to me. But my computer can not connect to
the internet while the others can. i have already reinstall my windows
home edition and LANcard driver. i have set my ip address and my ip
gateway. can you guys help me? thanks before.
