I am having no luck connecting my HP 812c to XP Pro.
Could I please have instructions to do so?
I have the installation disk, but still cannot connect it.

Hi Steve, How do you connect both of them?.
Here is a link if want to connect them with a cross-over cable and the two
computers should have a NICs installed to access each other:

If the above not what you want please let us know what kind of connection
you want.
HTH.

The HP deskjet 812c is a printer and I want to connect it to my computer
through XP Pro, I do not have the XP Pro disk, the computer was given to me.

Installation instructions

Driver for this is included with XP. Since you don't have the disk, check
your machine for an I386 folder - this includes the installation files that
should include the drivers. If you don't have that, can you borrow a disk?
(For that matter, do you have a COA showing that your copy of XP is legit?)

If you still want the driver, a little googling would have eventually
brought you here:

FWIW, you'll get better throughput to the printer by using a USB to Parallel
converter cable rather than just hooking it up to the parallel port. XP, by
design, poorly supports parallel port operation.

Yeep, Check for the latest driver from HP website for the * DeskJet * your
CD may defective or damaged.
Also be sure you connecting the printer cable the Right way ( i.e the male
side to the computer and female side to the printer that for the Parallel
cable)
The USB is straight forward procedure.
