Confused on Setting up Sites/Subnets/Site Links

Ok, i have royally confused myself. Need a little help
getting unconfused.

We are about to deploy AD, and are working on our site
layout.

I want to add in the new SITES, their subnets and create
a SITE LINK with the primary SITE for our domain.

SITE-A is our established site.

I want to create a new SITE called SITE-B and have a SITE
LINK that hooks up SITEA and SITEB.

Now, what do I create in what order. If I try to create
the SITE first it wants to hook into an existing SITE
LINK. If I create the SITE LINK first, I need 2 SITES
(only have SITEA that is part of our child domain). If I
create the SUBNET first, I need a SITE to hook to.

So I am confused. How do I go about setting this up?
Seems no matter which on I try to do first, I need
something else to already exist.

I know I have done this before, but I'll be darned if I
can remember what I did. Been too long.

Create the two sites, tell it to use the default site link (defaultIpSiteLink).
Once both sites are created, create the new site link and link the sites and you
can then remove the sites from the default.

Yes it is confusing, believe it or not though it is to protect you. You don't
run into the same issue if you write a script, however you have the possibility
of having a site that isn't connected to anything so things don't work.
