Conflicting software?

Hi, I'm running Windows XP Home on a P4, 2.4GH, Dell
machine. I seem to have a software conflict between two
programmes, one a video/CD/DVD editor and the other a DVD
Player. If I load one piece of software whilst logged on
as one user name and then load the second piece of
software on another user name, will this over come the
conflict? Hope that makes sense. Appreciate your help.
