Configuring Network w/out WZC

I am using a MA101 USB Adapter to connect to the LAN I have here at my home.
Periodically, the network on this computer (which is connected wirelessly to
the HOST computer) will drop, from anywhere of thirty seconds to three
minutes - an obvious pain-in-the-butt with online gaming and chatting.

After having done my own research, I read through forums where users
reported similar problems to my own, and I came to the conclusion that I
might prevent this problem by disabling WZC and attempting to configure my
network manually. Upon the disconnect of WZC, my connection lasted for a
short while longer, and then eventually dropped out (like it normally does) -
except this time it didn't come back.

My question is: How can I configure my adapter to connect to my wireless
network without using WZC? I assume that I cannot connect after restarting my
PC because WZC is disabled, because once I enable it again, the connection
comes right back up. I know all of the gateway and IP information, so I
simply need some way to configure (which will allow me to connect to) a
wireless network without using WZC. Thanks!!!

This sounds like a typical symptom of 802.1x authentication being enabled, on a
WPA-PSK WiFi LAN.

See if you can use the Netgear client.
# Disable WZC.
# Make sure that SSID beaconing is ENABLED.
# Only connect to your WiFi LAN.

Hi
I am Not sure it is WZC, but your Wireless probably came with a Manufacturer
Wireless utility. Try to install it and see how it behave while controlled
by the utility ( http://www.ezlan.net/wzc.html ).
