Configuring multiple mail accounts in Outlook 2003

I've set up 2 different mail accounts in Outlook 2003. Both have different
POP mail server addresses and have been set up accordingly with different
addresses and identities. Despite this, and despite changing the mail account
when sending, and the default e-mail account, Outlook will only send from one
identity, refusing to use the other. I want to send my business e-mails from
the business account and personal emails from my personal account but outlook
sends ALL mail with my personal account as the source. Any help is much
appreciated otherwise I'm going to have to find another mail package that
will enable me to achieve this.

Outlook doesn't have Identities. You can choose which acct to send from on
the Accounts menu, but OL will always send from the default one if you don't
change it every time. You can set up 2 different mail profiles to keep the 2
accts completely separate.

As Mary said, Outlook doesn't have identities. I think you're using
"identities" and "accounts" interchangeably.

The problem you describe can probably be explained here:

Thanks Mary and Brian - yes I am using the wrong terms but I've solved the
problem by changing the set up and using authentication through the outgoing
SMTP server. This seems to work ok. Thnaks both for your help.
