I need to use a laptop in multiple network enviroments.
Most have DHCP, but a few require static IP. Is there a
way to configure my laptop for both enviroments without
having to switch from one TCP/IP option to another. I
have a Dell Inspiron 1100 running Windows XP.

Thanks,
Angel

Hi Angel, you should see a tab labeled "Alternate Configuration" when
viewing the properties of TCP/IP. If you set a user configured static
address there, whenever a DHCP server cannot be found it will use that
static address instead. For more info search for "alternate configuration"
in Help and Support.
