Deny them admin rights?

XP Pro does have the ability to limit users in what they can do with a
general user account set up for them (without admin permissions/rights).

I expect they will still have access to the actual CD drive itself with
restrictions e.g. only listen to audio cd's but won't be able to install
programs from CD (or Floppy disk for that matter).

The denial of certain accessibility to the system is therefore based on
installation of programs generally, not specifically stopping access to a
certain disk drive.

Hi,

Save this in notepad and give it a .reg extension when saving:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"AllocateCDRoms"="1"
