Hi, I am trying configure Oe to check my MSN hotmail. I
try going to OE and it check's but i get an error saying
when poling the server that it coulndt find it. What
configuarion of this server do i need.? I have MSn hotmail
at MSN.com account... Is it a POP 3?? Or do i need to put
just MSN down as my server?? Thanks, Rob

Create your account in Outlook Express using the wizard...
Tools/accounts/new/mail OE will put the correct server
info in automatically. You can create a new account or just
set access for an existing account.

If you have MSN Mail, such as robert @ msn.com you can't
use Outlook Express but have to use that damn MSN Explorer.
You can retrieve MSN POP mail using the Hotmail web
interface options.

Wrong.

The following page gives instructions on configuring OE for MSN HTTP mail
([email protected]):

http://supportservices.msn.com/us/oeconfig/
(valid MSN ID required)

The above link is *not* for Hotmail ([email protected]) or MSN POP3 mail
([email protected]).

I think I said if MSN was your ISP, the dial up setting must
begin with msn/ or the connection will not be allowed to the
server.

I used MSN for a while and that was what was required to log
on their server without installing MSN Explorer (something I
do no intend to do).

Once you have a connection, you create the Hotmail account.
To connect to a POP account you need the proper server
names.
