config/system lost! After overheating

My system got overheated for the first time in about a
year. It froze up and upon rebooting the computer it would
start until the Windows screen should come up. Somehow my
config.sys line is missing or corrupt. How do I repair
without reinstalling. (e-mail address removed)

Windows XP doesn't use config.sys, although an empty config.sys
is normally there for any older program that may check to see if
it's present.

Try a repair installation:

Did you fix the overheating problem?
