Conexant HD Audio Driver problems

I have a brand new HP Pavillion dv9035nr Media Center notebook that I have
installed the final release version of Vista Ultimate on. Windows update
downloaded and installed the 11/19/06 version of the Conexant HD audio driver
but my audio still doesn't work. HP won't help me as they continue to insist
the final release version of Vista is not available.

ANY help appreciated!

I have a dv6045nr and the latest Conexant update works just fine on my
computer running the 64 bit version of Vista Ultimate. Have you tried
uninstalling through CP and then rebooting?

In defense of HP, you can expect them to release drivers for the final
version until they actually start shipping units with Vista preinstalled.
Even then, the units will ship with the *32 bit* version installed, so it
may be some time before you see any Vista 64 bit drivers.

Your brilliant!

I assumed that since there was a Conexant driver installed on my system, and
that since Windows update was offering to update it, that I actually NEEDED
it! Not so. I uninstalled the driver and rebooted and voila! Sound returns!

Now go drink a Guiness. You earned it!

Hey

Will the Conexant HD Audio driver included with Vista Ultimate x64 work with Windows XP Professional X64 edition? I could give it a try on my HP Pavilion dv6000z CTO. If so, please email it to me. Thanks.
