coneecting excel 2007 from windows 2000

I wish to connect Excel 2007, Access 2007 and was getting provider
error. I tried to install Microsoft patch AccessDatabaseEngine.exe,
but it is not supporting on Windows 2000, My server is of windows
2000. Plz anyone tell me how can I connect it.
 
What data provider are you using and how are you connecting?

Hi Dave,
I am using provider as Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0. The problem
is when i am trying to install provider AccessDatabaseEngine.exe on
windows 2000, it is not supporting.
 
You shouldn't need that. Both Excel and Access have more than one way to
make connections to each other.
