Conditional Formatting - Hiding Rows

S

Scott52

Is there a way to hide rows (or adjust row heights) based upon specifi
criteria within conditional formatting or is a macro required?

For example, if the specified range is A1:F100 and Column G include
data values in rows 1 through X but null values (i.e., "") in rows X+
to 100. I'd like to automatically hide rows X+1 to 100. Can this b
done without a macro?

Thanks,

Scot

Scott,

Maybe someone comes up with an answer to exactly what you ask, but maybe
this is sufficient for you as well.
(I don't think you can -without VBA - hide rows with conditional formatting,
but you can make the content of rows invisible)

Select your area of A1:G100. Format / Conditional formatting ... /
Select formula in Condition 1 / Enter =INDIRECT("G"&ROW())="" in the box
thereafter.
and select the textcolor equal to the backgroundcolor of the cells.

This will make the content of all cells in a row "invisible" if the cell in
the G column is empty.

How about a little manual effort?

Select your range and do Data|Filter|Autofilter.

Then use the dropdown arrow to show only the non-blanks.
