I have several music files, probably many duplicates. I
prefer just to use WMP. What would be the easiest way to
consolidate, and delete duplicates??

The easiest way is, if you have Norton Utilities, use the Duplicate File Finder feature.
Another way is, to use Search/files and folders, type *.mp3 or *.wma or *.mid, etc.
this way finds your files and you can check each one for duplication.
You can download: Check Identical Files v2.11 which has a free trial period, enough to clean your system.

or
There are many 3rd party applications that you can download that will do this for you.

MP3s and WMA files are already compressed, trying to compress them more will probably not work.
Large WAV files should be converted for they use a lot of space. Good luck.
