Computers not visible across network

Have a wired network with 5 computers (3 desktops and 2 laptops). On 3 of
the computers one of the laptops does not show up and they cannot find it.
On one of the desktops one of the other desktops does not show up. This is
in both the network places and looking under the network at the computers on
the network. Someone help me please. The laptop that does not show up has
access to all the other machines as well.

Thank you for any help.

Desktops running Win XP SP2
Laptops running Win Media Center with rollup.

I hate network browsing.
Can you ping said computers?
Is the firewall on each of them setup to allow for File and Print sharing?
If you try to map the shares directly (\\ipaddress\sharename) does it work?

Yes, but it makes life on a home network easy with sharing files.
I have not tried to ping the computers.
I have checked for the firewall settings, they are off. File and Print
sharing is turned on.
If I try to map directly it says it can't find the computer or the shared
resource.

Thanks...
