Have tried to Restore to earlier date.

1.Calendar will no longer function...says no restore
point yet available / created.

2. When turning on system, states FAILED TO INTIALIZE due
to psystray.pyd not found. Can not reinstall if i do not
know where to find it OR what it is or relates to!

3. hotmail worked fine until a few days ago, but now
tells me (a) that cookies are disabled...so have gone
back through and changed security settings to default.
( WHY oh WHY does not "HELP" index include "enable" under
the subject of "cookies"?!!! )
(b) signing in via MSN instant messenger now tells me
that my account no longer exists or password is
incorrect!!(c) when going through MSN site, i get this message...

It seems to me that MSN WINDOWS has alot of problems.
All of these constant patches AND they never seem to
explain which is what, when giving basic info FOR what it
is for, but nothing but a bunch of numbers and letters
not telling you if one is the same and/or a later, better
version of the "update".
(Had one friend go out and buy a new computer after
crashing, DUE TO an MSN update download!!!)

I am sure that i am forgetting some other items, but this
seems like some virus OR the government is watching me
for some unknown reason.
I have done EVERYTHING that i possibly know to do to
rectify this or these problem(s). Including running 3
different Anti-virus scans ( Norton, McAfee and Another.)
Also, using SPYWARE.
Nothing seems to work.

If you feel, as i do, that i should COMPLETELY restore
all system programs, PLEASE ADVISE ON BEST WAY TO SAVE
ALL DATA! ( This is one thing that i seem to have trouble
with, as my CD will tell me that it is full, after only
loading the smallest bits of information. )

The ONLY thing i can think of, otherwise, is that i
recently dropped ATT as service provider, using ISP.com,
but SOME problems began afterwards.

Will installing or reinstalling a SERVICE PACK help?

And what is it with MSN-WINDOWS add/remove program?>
It allows removal, but not "add"!(?)!

_- If i can not get this system to work VERY well, i will
be selling CHEAP and going to APPLE!-_

TY sincerely,

ADDENDUM: Finally got onto hotmail site, somehow
("double-click"?), and open mail, with great difficulty,
but not allowing new mail messages or much else.

If you want to save data, I would buy a new hard drive,
remove the old one, install Windows on it, and then add
the old one back and copy the files you want across to the
new one.

That way you'll have two hard drives and you can format
the secondary drive and clone the system to it as a back-
up with a free program such a XXCopy from
http://www.xxcopy.com/.

Excelsore hard drives are good value:

If you just want to keep the one drive, see the methods of
recovering Windows XP here:
