Computers are connected to network, but will not get internet

My computers (one Win ME tower, one Win XP Home tower,
and one Win Xp Pro Laptop) are networked using a cable
modem, hard line cable to both towers, and a wireless
router with wireless network card for the laptop.
Currently, the Win ME machine, which serves as the server,
is the only one that has internet. The other two XP
machines can see and connect with the ME machine through
the network, showing all the network connections are
working. However, even though these connections are
working, and so is the cable modem, the XP machines will
not connect to the internet.
Not only that, even though the machines are not
connected to the internet, every time I try to input a
website like Google into the address bar to test to see if
I have internet, Internet Explorer comes up with an error
that says "Internet Explorer cannot open the search
page". It also does this with sites such as Amazon.com.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as now the laptop
cannot be used for work and the tower cannot be used for
school.

I have solved this problem by adding the ISPs DNS IP
address into the XP's TCP/IP protocol settings. This has
been required even when the router offers DNS forward
functions.

Hope that helps

You suggested putting the ISPs DNS IP into the Xp TCP/IP
protocol in order to solve my networking woes. I have a
quick question though. Where is the typical place to find
the ISPs DNS IP?
