I'm running windows xp on a Toshiba laptop.

I got a new tv and hooked vga cables to back of tv and to laptop. Then I
went to settings for the monitor and changed it (I can't even remember to
what) and the windows screen came up on the tv. It kept trying to boot(I
guess that's what it's doing - it just shows the windows screen and the blue
arrows going across the screen). Nothing ever happened. I then unhooked
vga cables and now my computer screen on my laptop is doing the same thing.
It just keeps trying to boot.

Please help. I am so scared that I've ruined my computer.

Laura, turn on the laptop and press F8 immediately. You should get a
menu. Select Safe Mode. It WinXP boots up Ok
then rt click on desktop and reset your Monitor settings. Set the
resolution to the default or native resolution for your laptop.
You should find that in the Manual or go online to the Manufacturers
website.

Rich, You are worth your weight in gold. Thank you ever ever so much. It
works. Thank you.
